Super Bowl Frenzy Invades North TexasWe live about 20 miles east of downtown Dallas in a quiet community by the lake. Starting this weekend the entire DFW Metroplex
will become headquarters for the NFL and football fans around the world. Look in any direction or listen to the radio and
you will see/here about something to do during Super Bowl week. Local resident's are renting their homes for the week
to the highest bidder. Rumor has it rental rates are high enough to cover their mortgage payments for
several months! Of course every business within 40 miles of "Jerry World" is advertising their very own "super"
something. There really are some cool things to do though if you happen to be lucky enough to live here or even better, have
a game ticket. As for my husband and me, don't be looking for us at the game. We will be hanging out at the house by
the lake with friends. During the afternoon I will probably walk outside and glance across the lake toward the west
and see the downtown Dallas skyline and think about what's going on just a few miles beyond in Arlington. Just about
that time...and I can hear it now..."Honey, will you grab me a beer"? Click here for the Top 25 Things to Do and See in Dallas During the Big Week.

I love Tuesdays because...It's my day to volunteer at Dallas Children's Hospital by lending a hand to the moms and dads who have sick kids there. When a family has a child in the hospital, it
can throw the whole family into a chaotic mess. That's where the volunteer sitter pitches in to help...that's me! During the
course of a day at the hospital, I'll sit with 2 or 3 different children for a couple hours each. The little babies enjoy
a nice bottle and being held and talked to. The toddlers like to play little games of peek-a-boo and stuff like that. There
is one little man (can't name him because he is a ward of the state) who was born at the hospital about 4 months ago
with a heart problem. He has never been outside but that doesn't stop him from smiling. In fact he has the whole hospital
wrapped around his little finger. I hope I get to sit with him today. If you have the type of schedule that allows
you to volunteer some of your time, I highly recommend you lend a helping hand for a good cause. There are many organizations
that desperately need help. Besides...you will love the feeling of giving of yourself.

Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein at the Winspear Last Night! My husband and I enjoyed the show with friends from the 4th row! I laughed all the way through. The casting was great..almost
like watching the original movie. If you have a chance to see it, don't miss it.
